Funmi Akinrimisi MSN, PMHNP-BC
Funmi Akinrimisi is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at Texas Tech University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University. Before working in the NP role, Funmi has several years of experience in medical-surgical /Pediatric but specifically 10 years of experience in geriatric, adult, and child Psychiatry nursing.
Her passion for psychiatry nursing led her to pursue her master’s in Psychiatry Nursing. Funmi believes in a holistic approach towards treatment and aims to address contributing factors leading to less than optimal life quality for her patients. She finds it important to explore both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods while also incorporating good physical health and lifestyle changes. She has a special interest in treating mental disorder populations and reducing the stigma related to mental health. She performs psychiatric evaluation and develops a treatment plan to meet the specific needs of patients diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder.
Funmi also specializes in drug and detoxification treatment for patients with substance abuse and ETOH abuse. She is also a member of the Psychiatry Advanced Psychiatric Nurses Association and American Nurses Association.
Dr. Olumuyiwa. A. Abdul MD – Psychiatrist
Dr. Olumuyiwa Abdul specializes in psychiatry in Richmond, TX, and has over 22 years of experience in the field of medicine. He graduated from medical school with his medical degree in 1999. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Abdul diagnoses and treats mental illnesses and treats patients through a variety of methods including medications, psychotherapy or talk therapy, psychosocial interventions, and more, depending on each individual case. Dr. Abdul treats conditions like depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, insomnia, ADD, and other mental illnesses.
